Turn your Google listing into a booking channel
Connect Google Business Profile so searchers can message you, calls get tracked, and your listing becomes a measurable lead source instead of a static card.
- 1
Connect the profile
Settings, then Integrations: connect the Google account that manages the listing and select the correct location. Multi-location businesses connect each listing to its own sub-account.
- 2
Confirm chat lands in Conversations
GBP messages route into the same inbox as SMS and DMs. Send a test message from the listing and watch it arrive.
- 3
Add tracked calling deliberately
If you use a GHL tracking number on the listing, keep your real number as the secondary so Google keeps the association between your business and its original line.
- 4
Tag and automate the source
Tag inbound GBP conversations src-gbp and give them the same speed-to-lead treatment as form fills; these are high-intent local searchers.
- 5
Watch the numbers monthly
Reporting shows calls and chats attributed to the listing. If chat volume is zero, your listing may not have messaging enabled on Google’s side; check the GBP dashboard.
Do it with Claude
Ask Claude to summarize GBP-tagged conversations weekly: what people ask, what they book, and which questions your listing should answer preemptively.
Watch out for
- Replacing the primary listing number with a tracking number and losing local ranking signal.
- Enabling chat and then leaving searchers unanswered for hours; Google shows response times.
