Campaign sends that land in the inbox

The routine for one-off sends and newsletters: right segment, tested render, scheduled window, and results read before the next send.

  1. 1

    Verify the foundation once

Dedicated sending domain authenticated (see the domain SOP) and warmed (see the warm-up SOP). Campaigns on the shared domain are gambling with your inbox placement.

  2. 2

    Segment before you write

Marketing, then Email Campaigns. Send to a smart list that has a reason to get THIS email. "Everyone" is not a segment; relevance is the deliverability strategy.

  3. 3

    Build with restraint

One topic, one CTA, short paragraphs, a real from-name, and a subject that says what is inside. Design-heavy templates underperform simple, personal-looking email more often than not.

  4. 4

Send the test, on two clients

Test to Gmail and Outlook. Check rendering, links, merge fields, the unsubscribe link, and how the preview text reads in the inbox list.

  5. 5

    Schedule inside the window

Midweek late morning is the boring, effective default. Use send-throttling for big lists rather than one spike.

  6. 6

    Read results in 48 hours

Opens are directional, clicks are real, replies are gold, complaints are law. Log the numbers so next month’s send learns from this one.

Do it with Claude

Claude drafts the campaign to a segment’s context, pre-flights the audience through the MCP (consent, DND, bounce history), and summarizes results against your last five sends.

Watch out for

  • Blasting the full database because the send button makes it easy.
  • Skipping the Outlook test and shipping a broken layout to every corporate inbox.
