Your domain on your funnel: DNS without fear

Put funnels and sites on yourbrand.com (or a subdomain) with SSL, correctly, in one pass, no matter which DNS host you use.

   Choose the hostname strategy

   Subdomains are cleanest: go.yourbrand.com or book.yourbrand.com for funnels, keeping the root on your main site. Only point the root at GHL if GHL hosts your entire web presence.

   Add the domain in GHL

   Sites, then Domains, then Connect Domain. GHL shows the exact record it needs (typically a CNAME for subdomains, A records for a root domain).

   Create the record at your DNS host

   In GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, or wherever the domain lives, add exactly what GHL displayed. On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS-only (gray cloud) while validating; the proxy can block issuance of the SSL certificate.

   Verify and wait like a pro

   Click verify in GHL. Propagation runs minutes to hours. SSL issues automatically after validation; do not share the link until the padlock shows.

   Assign pages and set defaults

   Attach the funnel or site to the domain, set the default page for the bare hostname, and set the 404 behavior.

   Test variants

   Check https, http redirecting to https, and the www variant if applicable, from a phone off your wifi.
